Well the time has come to start my buil page.. I have been taking a lot of notes but either way I still will be asking question..thanks in advance to all the guys who will help. A little back ground on me. My name is Martin. I live in Houston, TX with my wife and 3 kids. I am a licensed locksmith and I do all the mechanical work on my own vehicles. I currently own a 2002 chevy z71, a 1996 chevy suburban, a 2003 chevy express, and my 1981 chevy stepside. I just sold my 1985 gmc jimmy fullsize to fund for this project. I was between fixing the 4x4 k5 or dropping and restoring the stepper. Well as you can see I went the street way since I already have a z71 4x4 and my honda 2008 foreman 4 wheeler to go mudding in.

I am doing this in my garage and I will try to post pictures as I go through this.. I bought a 2002 5.3/4l60e swap with 53000 miles for 500 plus I installed a cctv system for the guy for the swap. It was my buddys truck that he had garaged because he didn't want anything to happen to his truck.. and a damn tree fell on his garage chrushing the cab and bed.. so I havve thee whole swap...well enough talking here goes some pics.

It looks to be pretty solid. My first square was an 81 also, bought it out of a junk yard in 89 or 90... something like that.

Well the destruction has begun....

That's me sitting on my truck and my brother in law wearing a black shirt..man it hurts tearing down a perfectly running truck just for fun.. love it....

And after a few minutes he figured he will get a lot more done if he removed his shirt.. I thought that was so funny. .. gotta throw them horns.. HOOK 'EM.. we are big time Longhorns fans..

Oh and by the way, incase y'all haven't noticed him, but my son was born with downs syndrome and a heart desease that's why he has a huge scar on his chest cause he had a 16 hour open heart surgery when he was 8 months old. This truck and this project is for him and for his love towards Papas twuk. I have to show and teach my son as much as possible because kids with downs syndrome's brain will eventually stop taking information in and stop learning.. so for me and him time is preciouse and very meaningfull...

That is so cool that you're including him. My mom teaches special Ed for k-2 graders. Just so cool that you cherish it with him. I'm doing an 82 with an ls swap somewhere In The future. Keep us updated!!!

^^^ yeah, I second that! A Daddy's love run's DEEP when it comes to trucks and his boys. I've got 2 of my own, and live life w/ them so that they may know the Lord and the smell of burnt rubber!
