Thanks All for the comments, I guess there may be a better test for a posi - involving high rpms and a lot of smoke



I think I'll go with your recommendation CrazyL after some more looking at the steps in bearing replacement. I had some noise in the driveline somewhere and planned on just the u-joints.

Bearings are cheap in the 1/2 ton, but how many tools will I have to buy to redo them?


I really appreciate the comments on the pitted ring & pinion gears, that will save me $250 for now...
