Re: 72 grille shell

Flitz might work to brighten it up and remove some light scratches.

Anyone else?

Re: 72 grille shell

best thing to use to start the polishing of a grill that is still installed would be a brillo soap pad from the supermarket. that will strip off the anodizing and start the cleaning of the grill while still being safe to surrounding finish of the truck// follow up with a good metal polish for a better shine

\i wouldnt be spraying acid all over it with it still attached to the truck, to prevent damage to the painted finish and to avoid residual leftover acid trapped when tryin to rise it off and neutralize it

Re: 72 grille shell

At the local car/truck swap meet a while ago we saw a '71/2 truck with the grill painted silver. You couldn't really tell until you got up real close. It looked nice, because I think it was a way to break up all the chrome and where there was chrome stuff it seemed to pop out at you more. Sorry I didn't have my camera with me so I don't have any pictures.

I'm thinking about painting mine when I get round to resto.
