I've been sanding down various places with 2000 grit paper, then buffing with rubbing and polishing compound.

Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window

The house got hit by lightning this morning! It completely went down a few 70 ft. pine trees and onto the roof. Loudest thing I've ever heard in my life!!! We smelt smoke at first but my mom called the Fire Dept. and they checked it to be ok.

In other news, I picked up a new radiator/grill support. The old one was rotted out pretty bad, especially under and around where the battery was.

Thank you very much! Yea I got the right mounts for the 67 support today(I had some from a while back that came with the cab mounts but they were for 69-72 trucks and wouldn't work. I want to keep it black but don't know if the paint that's on there is durable and if I should respray it. Any thoughts anyone? I also put on the fenders for a little while just to see
Also got the distributor hold down so it's in there and I bolted down the cab for good.

First I sandblasted it, then came the red rustoleum primer, then the rustoleum gloss black (both rattle-can). I sanded the first coat down a little and sprayed another. The knob was sanded and painted with white krylon we had laying around and after some more sanding and coats, the lettering was hand-painted on. The knob eventually got cleared with the clear coat for the truck and I found a nice chrome nut at Sears to tighten it down.

Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window

I blasted and painted the lever while my brother sanded and painted the knob white with black numbers. Sanded between coats so everything's very smooth. I also put a chrome nut on there to break everything up. Details!

Thanks! I like it cause you don't see too many of these transmissions in these trucks.

Yep.....that looks awesome. I like the 4 speed, that adds character! Same shift pattern as my old 68 VDub.

I hope to tie in a little bit of white elsewhere (Gauges, seat?, maybe tailgate letters)

Thanks! SM420? I think they're pretty rare in these trucks being that 67 was the last year they were in production. I've only seen a few on here and could probably count them on one hand. You're really gonna love that transmission if you check out this site... http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/sm420.htm
It's a beast!

Hey David, truck looks good. Your question about the 4/6 drop. We didn't use Early Classic, but CPP kit. You've seen Jimbo's truck on my post, yours should sit about the same after everything is together and you drive it a little ways. Keep plugging away.....Jim

Thanks Rick! It's pretty solid I just put some paint remover on that fender to see how well it takes the paint off.
