thanks man!! i wanst planning on puttin it back on anytime soon but im temted to learn some body work and rustoleum it and put the trim back on, paint the roof white get my slots on and roll it like that! But then I think id have too much black (tires body etc) maybe a blue rustoleum..

Hmmm...
Wheres best place to get the stuff? Walmart, autozone etc? Thing is I know 0 about bodywork..pull the dents, leave em, bondo em? What do I shoot before the paint? (We have a spraygun or 2 and a big compressor, but no place to really do it...) may have to wait till spring?) I wish I had shop at school!

well if you are going to paint it, the drive way then do it early in the mornig or in the evening or there is going to be a lot of bugs landing on the paint ,if the dent is about the thickness of a quarter than bondo but put por 15 down then bondo over the por 15 so it doesnt rust under the bondo, other than that try to get on the back side of the dent and pound it out with a ball peen hammer

I sprayed rustoleum on mine in my driveway/garage. I was able to pop out some of the dings in my truck but there were a few spots I had to use bondo on. If you strip it down to bare metal then you'll want to use some primer but if you sand it smooth then you can just spray the rustoleum on. I got mine at Home depot but I think Wal Mart would carry it too.

hey man, what're you using to clean up your trim i sat in the shop by the fireplace in the rocker and messed with mine a lil (yeah i got it outa the barn
 ) What steps ya takin? when i get a piece done i'll buy clips and mount it

well what i did was if there were any dents i would try and push em out with my thunb if i could so first i toook care of every dent i could then i took some steel wool and cleaned all the chrome and scuffed the black paint with the steel wool the taped it off and painted it flat black oh gmcs were red (fun fact
 )

on the back of te little bag suranrap thing they come in it will tell you what guage is for what just look for the one that says chrome or trim and if they dont have those then get the one for windows

im just tryin to get my look my truck is almost running an stopping so for right now i am just gioing to start giving it the look i want and then once i got every thing i am going to sand her all down do the body work [might have a guy who can work wonders with the passenger bed side] and then im going to primer and do a semi gloss black
