Windshield goo?

So I just removed the windshield and there is all this goo that looks and feels a lot like plumbers putty that was between the seal and the body. Is that normal?

It is probally dried up grease or something they used to lube the rubber when they installed it

people will fill in with the oddest stuff to try and stop a percieved leaky windshield// roofing cement sillycone and glues off all types i've even seen candle wax applied to the winshield channel

the gm shop manual for our trucks shows sealer to be installed @ rt/lft upper corners if memory serves me. cheers, Pat
