Newbie question
I'm new to the classic truck world. So please forgive my ignorance. Why do many owners convert there wheel set up from 6 lug to 5. My 69 long bed is 6 lug.

5 lug gives you many more choices in wheels.

it's easier to find used disc brake 5 lug setup's and like leddzepp said more wheel choices ,.... welcome to a wealth of knowledge about these trucks... these guys know some stuff

ttt is to the top and bump is kinda like bumping to the top and i would say that there are more wheels for 6 lug than 5 i have 5 lug and wish i had 6 but if i need disc brake stuff it will be easier to get/find so there are advantages fr both and nice to have another chevy man aboard they all count

If you go with aftermarket (larger diameter) wheels in 6 lug, your backspacing options are limited. There is nothing wrong with 6 lug, lots and lots of trucks have them. You can convert to disk brakes in the front and use 6 lug rotors.
