Anyone have pictures or info on how to remove the heater box on an ac truck inside and out? I removed about 10 screws and nuts today and the thing still sticks to my firewall like superglue. No idea what I am missing to pull it loose.

It does have a tar like sealant between the firewall and the housing. Not budging at all?

I see the sealant when i removed some of the screws. Very little budge. I hate to really put force on it and break something. trying to get it off to clean up the firewall before paint.

It has been a long time, but I think that there a couple of screws that go from the inside the cab out to the enclosure, not just those you can see outside. Did you get the bottom outside screws that you can't see at the bottom outside? Easier to remove and install with the inner fender removed and the right side hood hinge removed.

Yes I removed the ones on bottom. I have the front clip removed so it is not a problem getting to it. I also removed some screws on the inside. I think 2 or 3 there.

Hmm... Did you disconnect the cable that runs to the hot/cold door? I cant remember what part the door is in. Inside or outside. But anyways you lay in passenger floor and you will see it running into firewall right above passenger feet. Little plastic grommet on it. Pull that and inside you will see a 3/8" or 5/16" headed sheet melat screw holding bracket for cable. Un hook that and if you are sure you got ALL the bolts out. Run a putty knife between outer manifold and firewall and cut/gently pry from the truck. Good luck

Thanks. I did pull the cables off the ac unit itself, but not off of the boxes. I will try that in a few days and get me a putty knife. Thanks again everyone.

If I remember correctly you can reach the cable from the engine compartment near the passenger side wiper. You have to pull the top of the box back and look down and you can see the cable that you need to remove.
