nice build, is the shifter going to be under the front seat. looks way back in the pics. i like the finish of your frame, i had mine powdercoated in a smooth gloss and it was the worst mistake i made.

What do you regret about the smooth gloss on the frame? The gloss color instead of satin or something else?

Re: Started my first frame off - 72 SWB LS1, 6-spd manual

if you breathe wrong on the gloss finish it scratches. you have to be way to carefull during assembly. go with a semi gloss finish when you coat it or it will take decades to reassemble it without scratching it. i went with a super wet black, bad mistake.

Good to know. I was trying to make up my mind on which to go with satin or gloss on the frame. That makes the decision for me. Thanks for sharing, I'm sure it will help others make the right choice too.

They're Doug Horley's. I haven't started on the wiring harness yet.

The progress is going slower than I would like but we all no the balancing act with work and family. I have the front and rear brakes complete and started back on the body work.

Sand blasted and powder coating all of my small parts. The hood hinges, bumper brackets and pedal assembly.

THANKS FOR THE COMPLIMENTS!!

Thanks! I am powder coating and blasting everything that I can fit in my "Harbor freight" sand blaster (paid $89 new) and my "Craigslist" oven (paid $100 used). The Gun you can pick up from Harbor Freight for around $70. Its less expensive than paint and comes out really nice.

PERFECT! someone doing the same engine/trans swap as I am... in current day. I watch a couple build threads only to realize they are 5-6 years old. LOL definitely keeping up on this one
