Re: What is this Truck?
Actually I'm also noticing that the truck in the image has got to be a step. Look VERY closely at the image, and you can the the 3-4 pixel overhang of the step rail on the bed, instead of the smooth side the fleet would have. I blew it up about 6 times but that is FOR SURE a step side truck. And i think the tail gate is down in the picture.

Re: What is this Truck?
Here it is blown up about 4 times. I didn't have my pen tablet hooked up so I had to do the outlines with my finger, but hopefully it should present the same idea.

Re: What is this Truck?
Thanks,
It's not there in street view. I think because it's a flag lot. (Not facing the street) I'm probably going to go with Mark's idea to write them a letter.

Re: What is this Truck?
I know...
I just need to get in contact with them and go see it in person, but... I still think it is my 65 in the drive and not a ford. Look at the shadow which shows the roof has a rear fin.

Is the location close to a member to just drive by for you? I live in Fairview (Gresham), but work seems to get me all over, I would be willing to just see if it is a Chev or a furd.

Re: What is this Truck?
the street views don't have the same pictures(in your case its most likely because that looks like a private street) because the aerial view is taken with a satellite and the street view is done with a vehicle with a camera mounted to the roof,i seen one driving down my street one day and had a rotating camera mounted on top the roof and had Google logo on the door was weird seeing it,also at my house the satellite picture has my old Bonneville car and the street view has my car that was sold a year or so before i had the Bonneville so the pictures are not always taken at the same time frame.
this light blue colored truck is a 60-66 long bed fleetside truck i know for a fact but in this picture it looks more a 60s ford to me...so you might be on to something:

Re: What is this Truck?
Have you tried rotating North on the close view (just before street view) on google maps. You should be able to rotate around and see the truck from all four angles. Might give you a better idea.
The first shot almost looks like it could be a F*rd judging by the side rails of the bed. It looks like the two sides are reflecting differently. The F*rd, and maybe D*dge too, had the slanted bed rails and since the picture is from an angle the closer rail would appear to be thinner than the far rail. It's complete BS, but it's BS that could be true.

Re: What is this Truck?
EDIT: After seeing the side view and the A pillar, I agree it's a chevy too.

Re: What is this Truck?
What a great suggestion!
That did it. I'm convinced it's a 64-66 Chevy Short Stepside!

Re: What is this Truck?
I'm going to put a letter together tonight, like Mark suggested, and send it out tomorrow morning. I'm pretty excited.
They look like they've done a nice restore, so they probably won't be selling anytime soon. I don't really care. I just want to see it, and see what they've done with it.

Re: What is this Truck?
So remind me, was your truck stolen? You said lost but I just want to know if that means theft or your x-wife sold it to spite you. The reason I ask is maybe the guy whos driveway it's in is the guy who took it and contacting him might show your hand. What are you hoping to accomplish by talking with the new owner?

Re: What is this Truck?
<<Edit.. This thread named "What is This Truck" has been merged with the "Lost My 65" thread. >>
I sold it back in 87 when I was 22 to some girl who worked at Napa. Originally, I hoped to find it to see if whoever owned it might sell it back to me. Now it looks as if they have done a nice restore. So now I'd just like to see it. I'm also thinking they might be interested in some of the history of the truck and copies of the pictures I have of it when I built it. See the link in my signature for the full story and pics.

Re: What is this Truck?
can't wait to hear what you find out...if that's truly it, i'm sure they'd appreciate some history about it, including old pics....and just maybe you'll put in a good word & get it back someday...i know my dad sold a '64 that i grew up with & was promised to be mine, & i often wish i had it today...to my knowledge the same guy still has it and is still living in the area...when my finances allow, it would be awesome to be able to re-purchase it (if he'd sell)...there's just something about those trucks with sentimental value....good luck & keep us informed!

Re: What is this Truck?
That Truck in question is surely my old 65.
The owner sent me a reply thru email along with some pics. Here is a pic he took of it back in 2004:
