The small case doesnt matter, I got some 3.73 Yukon gears from Randys quite a few years back for my 12 bolt that came with 2.76 gears. They just have a really thick ring gear to take up the extra room since the pinion is smaller. You can get atleast 3.73s or maybe even 4.10s if you want to unless you are set on your 3.42s.
