My 15 year old son and I pulled his truck into the shop today. We are trying to figure out what drop to get. The truck will sit with 15 inch ralleys. He basically wants the top of the wheel to sit flush with the bottom of the fender lip front and back. Anyone know what drop to get..? Thanks in advance

My son's and I made up some blocks for the rear and installed longer u-bolts to get the drop we wanted. The truck that we did this on was completely assembled so it was just a matter of measuring the amount of drop we wanted and making the blocks to correspond. In our case the blocks were made as a weldment 2" thick so the u-bolts were made 2" longer. The blocks were made to fit between the trailing arms and the differential with the u-bolts going through the blocks. The front of the truck had a good height so it was left as is.

Springs are available in various drops, but you may want to get the truck together before changing the height..

This is my 5.5"/7.5" drop.

2.5" drop spindles
3" front springs
6" rear springs
1.5" blocks

you want the top of tire or rim to line up with the top of the wheel well arch?

a rim to wheel well arch drop will be a huge drop. just sayin....

CPP, McGaughey's, and others... check the parts board as most people are generally sellings various parts from other projects, or post a WTB ad.

Also, with a 6" drop (like mine) a c-notch is not required. I highly recommend shock relocators and new lowered shocks for the ultimate ride. Check out my build thread (Blank Slate) in my signature for the complete install of the 4.5/6" drop kit along with a disc brake upgrade.

Literally.

He has the latest and greatest products out there for lowering these classic trucks.
From mild drops to "laying frame".

haha, ? is how much do you wanna spend...

if not alot of hauling blocks and somethnig like jeep springs , NO HAULING...i may end up swapping my jeep springs out for lowering springs sometime because i still use my truck..but LOVE the look, wanna bag one day maybe

yeah, I think 5.5/7.5 is about as low as you'd want to go static dropped- you have to be able to turn the wheels! lol
I have 15" rallys and have a 5.5/7 drop. It works out pretty good. and I love LoLife's truck, that thing is badass!

I know that you will be happy with your purchase once you have it fully installed and ready to drive. I haven't regreted it since we buttoned up the install as the ride is truly amazing.

Got the kit installed today....well most of it. Not sure of the front end, it sits lower than the rear. And that with no motor. Maybe the completed box should suck it down. Should it sit level? Thanks guys...

There will be a "slight" rake to the truck, probably about .5-1.0" difference (maybe).

Overall as long as you have the front springs in the a-arm pockets right, you will be set.
