The burb in my sig has over 425K miles on the chassis. And over 25K on the new engine(and acc)/trans/transfer-case/rear end. She runs like a top and tows like a dream. I've been towing a 20ft tandem trailer varying from 1500-3500lbs for the past week and will be for weeks more. She doesnt skip a beat. Keep her out of OD and she'll last for ages.

How about driving home from this? The story's are endless... just one alone would be more then i would care to type! But lets just say you get a new appreciation for chevy after "rocking" your 4x4 in a desperate attempt to not get stuck or get un stuck. Something about going from floored in first and lifting your foot off the gas only long enough to slam it into reverse and putting the pedal right back to the floor and holding it there as long as necessary proves it to me.

My dad's '87, what truck! It's been rammed by tractors I don't know how many times, I accidentaly threw a piece of firewood through the rear window when I was 12 or 13. In the summer, it doesn't hesitate to haul 6300 lbs of hay doing the ten-dollar hooker walk out back. Perfect work truck!

Wasn't this meant to be about 67-72s?My newer trucks have been very durable as well.

My '71 K/20 was running and in neutral facing down hill and I had to run back in the house real quick.The e-brake popped off and it took off straight down the hill,into the side of a barn.It pushed the plank siding into where a huge stack of lumber stopped it.It was still idling with the lights on,I backed it out and went to work.There was white paint from the siding that marred my windshield and the hood...that's it! I think it's more a story of luck that anything else.Still fits the "takes a licking and keeps on ticking" category.
That truck was the workhorse of my business and went 275,000 miles of hard work before pulling it off the road to restore the body.

All vehicles fail at some point.But,of all the 67-72s I've had I can't recall one ever breaking where I couldn't still get it home and were no worse for wear once fixed.They are very forgiving vehicles in original form.
