carb help! Please

i have a 67 with a 250 i6 and just had the carb rebuilt by a friend but it is squirting gas out of this on top. can anybody help me?[IMG][/IMG]

I believe that is an air relief so your floats may be set to high

YOur float is set too high or stuck. Try tapping it with a soft mallet or back side of a screwdriver. If that doesn't stop it, you will need to reset the float.

would i have to take the carb back off or could i do it while it is still on? and tap it where? sorry working on this truck is new to me. thank you for the help though, this place is so helpful

If it has a rubber fuel line going into the carb ,you can clamp it off with vice grips then start the truck and run it out of gas. then tap the bowl ,this works a little better to un stick a stubborn float.

On top of the bowl. Take the carb off, open the bowl, float operates a needle valve thing. Take it apart and make sure theres not a small piece of metal or somthing blocking the seat. Don't know how to set the float.

I'll have to try that sometime. I've never had any luck with the tapping thing.
