Will a factory 4bbl manifold bolt on in place of a 2bbl?

I have a factory stock 350ci w/factory 2bbl intake on a 72 C-10. I was given a 350ci 4bbl manifold and was wondering if they would swap out or if the heads and/or ports are different? I ran into this problem years ago with a Ford Cleveland 351 and the heads were different from 2bbl to 4bbl manifolds. Thanks!

That's the cool thing about Chevys, great interchangability. As long as it's from the same generation of engine, (1955 to late 80's), it'll fit fine. Linkage and choke are the only issues you might have.

Pre 86 and after 86 are the main differences. If it looks like it will fit it will. Watch the bolts to the heads. You can see the difference. The newer engines have center bolt valve covers.

Just make sure the manifold matches whatever carb CHOKE set up you want to use, that you have the correct carb adapter plate and once you swap it all make sure its not too tall. I have always been a fan of swapping to the front oil fill tube types like found on the 327 and some early 307's.

Re: Will a factory 4bbl manifold bolt on in place of a 2bbl?

If it is a correct quadrajet manifold for our year trucks it will have a divorced choke set up on the passenger side and no egr valve provision on the driver's side. If it doesn't have a carb with it and you want to use what came on it, you will have to look for a quadrajet that has the divorced choke. You can find them on the parts board or on ebay and it should get a rebuild kit before you put it on.
