Floor Mat

For those of you running rubber factory style floor mats,

A) Did you install sound deadener under it?

B) Where did you buy your mat and are you happy with the quality?
C) Does your mat lock into the factory floor mounted studs?

In the past, on cars I have restored / refurbished, I have always used the factory sound deadener pre-cut panels like shown below. It is made from heavy tar like material.

Here's a thread showing the quality of the mat in my truck. I have no padding under the mat, I didn't want to muffle the sound of the 4 speed transmission. The downside of no padding is eventually any bolt heads on the floor will imprint or poke through the mat.

My only regret is I bought a new Richmond/Super T10 instead of an M22 rock crusher. They are so much louder!

Geez, with the combination of tranny whine and old whistling vent windows, you must be in heaven! LOL
My all orig, unrestored 66 has 1/8 inch white foam very similar to what is used in shipping/packing nowadays. Of course Dynamat and the like is unbeatable, except the cost.

I bought my first rubber mat from Classic Parts.
It was nothing like the original.
The second one I bought, came from Tim Christian.
It's an exact copy of my '70 rubber mat.
Tim's old company is now "Top Banana" here on the board.
