Re: Custom interiors Mild to Wild

Here's my '71 C-10 :

Not ultra-fancy but it works. '80s BMW 600 Series zillion way electric adjustable seats recovered. Original 1971 C-10 door panels recovered. New dash pad from LMC, ('cause they were the only ones who had the blue in stock at the time.) Used OEM arm rest from Manes. Center console from a 1987 Suburban, dyed to match.

I've got a lot more to do, but it all pulls together ok, I think.

best wishes,

Les

Here are some pics of my 70 SWB... It is a complete custom, one-off interior done by a friend of mine (He is one of the best in the business and I'm soooo lucky to have him as a friend).

Man what a friend. His work is amazing!!!!! How did he do the under dash part and center console? Did he use one from another model or make it from scratch. My 69c10 is stock inside but after seeing yours.........I changed my mind. And I love your seat. Where did you get that?

Everything was built from scratch... He uses thin plywood to build the structure and then uses fiberglass, foam, etc. where required. The seat is a bench seat from a '96 Chev that he re-shaped with an electric carving knife to fit the console and create the final shape.

Re: Custom interiors Mild to Wild

Didn't get nearly as custom as some of the nice interiors posted. However, being on a tight budget I think mine turned out pretty nice. The dash pieces and arm rests are 1 off I made from some exotic hardwood. The seat and door panels were stitched up by an old friend and I did the rest.

In the Sceme of things, a $40K price Tag and his highest Bidder was withing $7K of that!
I would have contacted that Highest Bidder and said,
"Lets split the Difference" and call it a Deal!

(Not a Fan of the Interior Color Red either).
As far as the Dash, I'm don't like that style Gauge Bezel,
and the Old School Radio with the IPOD, would appeal to a younger person,
(not so much me).

Me, too. But a lot of times, a guy sets the price and, of course, knows the reserve. If a reserve is established, I think he gets charged for the ad (not really sure about that). But, to inspire bidding,
sometimes the "Lister" finds a friend to bid under the reserve to "get the ball rolling". Not saying that happened, here. But the truck *is* re-listed.

I think it's a beautiful truck. Really fine workmanship, it seems. Lots of stuff that is not MY style. But I always say, that's why I love all these trucks. They are individual and interesting.

So, if the right guy (gal) has $40 large? New owner. I thought the bid was a good one.

I agree, but for his "Starting Bid" (on his Truck of $20K),
I can buy THIS ONE:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...57400720784025

and save $20K.
Now its not as "clean" as the one for $40K, but with the money I save I could redo the Interior, and have it detailed. (I'm just sayin).
