85 c10 need help, cold starting and high idle

I have an 85 c10 that won't stay on when I start it unless I keep the gas down for about 10 min, till its warmed up to normal running temperature. Problem with getting it started in the 'cold' only in the 40s.... ? I know there are threads about this but I can't find them. I also know this is probably a common problem but I'm still learning. Any ideas? Since its acting like its starved for fuel I tried adjusting the idle just for kicks and it helped a little but then once its running normally or its a warm day its idling too high

Re: 85 c10 need help, cold starting and high idle

Should get a pic of the carb on saturday. just too busy till then. My choke is on when I start the truck, but if I stomp the gas quickly then it opens up enough to start the truck but after about two seconds it starts shutting again, is there a spring or connection that needs to be adjusted? I need to get back under the hood and look at it (I've been under the truck working on the transmission the last few times).
Pics coming!!!

Take a pic before starting with air cleaner off of choke side and a pic of when warmed up running.

Will do, thanks. Its a four barrel and the larger two aren't opening at all when its turned on. theres some sort of really strong vacume pressure holding them down or something...maybe send a pic of that too.
