roll up doors

My shop is fairly old & has two doors that swing out that are 7' tall x 8' wide each. I was wondering how much it it would cost me to convert to a typical roll up door setup?

Re: roll up doors

i put in a 5' wide x 7' tall rollup in my buddys shed for around 300 bucks i think. they're pretty simple to install. call around to your local overhead door companys, a lot of times they take out doors and might be able to piece something together for ya

Re: roll up doors

looking at lowes website insulated 8 x 7 doors are $295 and uninsulated are $225. You might have to add framing, and will have to decide how you want to hang the guides so there will be some additional cost.

Re: roll up doors

big cow is right. look around & find the boys that work on these doors, they take old doors down all the time & save them for parts & such. my front door is a 24' wide panel type & i got it at the co op just for hauling it off. my rear door is a 18' wide can type & it was a factory defect, got it for free.
oh yeah old panels from doors make kick ass shelves- just build your racks with 2x4s & slide 'em in!
