help with brakes
i have a 62, swapped out xmembers with an 84. i now have disk brakes, my question is, will my stock master cylinder be enough to push them. im just gonna run a manual disk set up. its the master cylinder that is 1 resevoir but two plungers, one for the brake pedal and one for the clutch. any ideas on what i should do? thanks a bunch in advance

No, the stock master is a single curicuit one resivour feeds all 4 drums, the other as you know feeds the clutch
You need a dual master cylinder for DISC brakes . You can use one off of a 72 c10 non power master. What do you plan to use for the clutch ?

I agree with Sal.
You will need to convert to a dual reservior master that is designed to operate a disc/drum brake system. Manual masters were available from '71 thru about '76. Don't forget you'll need the proportioning valve.

thanks fellas, i have a proportioning valve, and im gettin a non power master from a 74 tomorrow from napa for disk/drum. for the clutch, wilwood has a master for like 49 bucks so i figure ill just use that. my next question is the rubber mounts for the bell houseing/trans, where can i get those, im not sure if the ones i have are correct cause the truck was kinda tossed together when i got my hands on it.

I'm kinda new at this but I think LMC Truck might be a good start for the mounts. When purchasing, I have been told to buy the mounts for the year of the bell housing as opposed to the year of the truck however it may not matter.

I like to use the manual master cylinder for an early 80s era truck. It's aluminum with plastic reservoir so they never rust or get looking ugly.

If you're using the original slave cylinder, you will want the Wilwood master with a 1" bore.
