I like those, that is by far the best panel conversion I've seen. The guy at the glass shop wanted me to radius the corners like those so we could use that same rubber. that way you have one length with a square cut ends . like the barn door windows. I thought it would look hokey. I think that wide pillar really pulls it off. Would love to see some more pics of that truck. I can just see it with the white stripe and some matching white spokes or deep stockers and the flares. total late seveties early eighties. love it.

Re: 1966 GMC carryall side windows

that is when it is from and is all disappearing as soon as I cut the body up after the new year so I put the suburban body together and get it on there. that is how it looked when I got it 20 years ago and it has been patched before I got it . It also had 36x15x15 tires on it when I got it.

I thought about this several times, Lexan or BlueOX poly-carbonate(spellcheck) is race car glass, 1/4" will almost stop a bullet. several local shops sell it by the sheet in collors! I can cut and shape it with a 4" cuter blade on the grinder. Please someone tell me DON'T DO IT !

Padresag, I love that truck! I likem Tough! you should make it 4 wheel drive !!

If you have glass cut to fit be sure and use laminated safety glass, it is required by the law I do not like the idea of plexiglass.......Kieth

As you say "plexiglass" is made of acrylic resin, It will crack and shatter. As I said, Lexan and Blue-ox (Trade-mark names) are made of poly-carbonate. Slivers of it can be tied in knots. It is used as clear bullet proof plastic glass. As for the legality of using a non DOT approved material in the side widows of my antique vehicle, Well I think I will leave that debate up to my attorney. Thanks for your input. *****! If you are scared, just say you are SCARED!

I am not scared, I do mfg a product that uses laminated safety glass in class 8 trucks, just thought I would give you a heads up, If you are ever in a accident the laminated glass is designed to reduce injuries. It is a free country so install what ever you want to.......Good luck on your build. Kieth
