Depends what you're doing. If you're looking to just store a car I'd go with the 4 post. For any work I would absolutely go 2 post. I've worked with both and the 4 post is a real pain, even for an oil change you're constantly ducking under the ramps. I've used my 2 post to lift all sorts of stuff out of the back of my truck including a 6.4L diesel, lift the cabs and boxes off trucks, put plywood across the arms to make a nice size work table, etc... pretty versatile.
Research the brands though. Mohawks are nice but the fact that you have to release the locks at both columns would be enough to sway me away. Bend Pak, Rotary... Personally, I wouldn't buy a lift unless it's ALI/ETL certified. They are tested to three times their rating.
