Feel My Pain

Was cruising down the road today and went to shift into 3rd. BLAM, the clutch goes to the floor with a nice little pop noise I get it back into 2nd without the clutch and nurse her home. (I killed my battery cranking it at the stoplights and signs ) Opened up the hood and the stinking ball joint thingy that goes into the block broke off at the block. Guess im gonna have to pull the motor to get an easy-out in there A few good things did come out of this tho....... I convinced the wife that the peice would cost alot, so she gave me money Bought a new steer wheel (Factory, truck has no power steering and had a small wheel on it when i bought it) Horn works for first time in 9 years, weeeeee, no more revvin it up when people wont get out of my way, the horn is going to get me hurt Somebody cry with me while I rip this motor out

Are you sure you have to pull the motor? My pivot assembly is mounted to the block using two bolts.

Yea, the bolt broke off just enough so I can't grab it with the pliers I ordered the whole new assembly from LMC, should be here tomorrow. MAYBE I can make some time to get it out

I feel your pain! I am pulling the motor out of my stupid car because a spark plug hole stripped out! I wish it was as easy as pulling the motor out of my truck!

Good luck with yours!

i got mine out with a reverse drill bit, you dont have to pull the motor, if it still wont budge with the reverse drill bit start the motor and let it get warm, then try again and it might come right out

here is a good tip if you have a propane torch you wont have to pull it. jack it up pull the wheel and inner fender. get an easyout or the reverse drill, a center punch, andsome penatrating oil bp blaster works real good. heat up the bolt and the block to the point were it gets just cherry red. know take the center punch and pop it 2 time with a hammer. it should cooler a littleto were the color is changing to black and spray a little!!!!!! bp on the bolt let it sit an cool. then use the bit or the easy out. i had to do this the 3 time in 2 months the ball stud just kept breaking so i went to a machine shop and had them make me a stainless one. hope this helps and good luck
