power steering pitman arm and drag link?
I am converting my truck to power steering and I was wondering if anyone knew if i need a different pitman arm(with an open end) for my ps box, of if this piece comes out of the drag link and i can put the pitman arm into it.
thanks |

Re: power steering pitman arm and drag link?
You need a pitman arm for power steering application. The pitman is different than non power application.
In the picture above, your old pitman has come apart. That stud in the center link is a permanent part of the pitman arm and should still be swaged up into the pitman. Yours is way messed up. You have to get that stud out of there and get a new pitman arm.

No, it's a taper fit. It's just stuck. If you will twist it with a big pipe wrench it should pop out of there.
