one piece side windows

I posted an ad on this previous, and lost the paper I had written the manufaturer's name on. Alzeimers I guess. Looking for a kit to remove the side vent window, and having one piece sideglass. There is a muanufacturer that has a kit for electric one piece side glass. Anyone know who makes it?

Re: one piece side windows

Just from what I have seen, if this is on a 64-66, alot of cutting needs to be done, there is a metal hump inside the door in the bottom front that will need to be cut out for the glass to go all the way down. This is just one of the challenges.

Re: one piece side windows

I am aware of the cutting inside the door. The kit offered had the glass, and all that is needed, including detailed instructions on how to install. After all the welding I've had to do on the floor, cab mounts, rockers, and cab corners, along with some other small repairs, this can't be that bad. I just can't remember who sells this kit. I definately want to ditch the vent windows.

Hey there rustbucket. I did the windows and it is a lot of work. I looked up this old thread from 2007 .

Thanks John, I don't care how much work it is, that's never been a problem for me. I love the clean look of yours. The overall look of yours is awesome, the low stance, the wind machine sticking out of the hood, and the pro street thing in the back. Very cool. Did you shave the bumper bolts also? Hard to tell by the pic, but the bumper looked smooth. Oh, I'm a Niner fan, and a black and silver ride has nothing to do with Al Davis's mess in Oakland.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Hi SCOTI, The one piece power windows are a plus in the old truck! At first I thought it was too much work but when it was done it was worth it. The fitment inside the doors is tight and requires some cutting and grinding to make the correct angles. The most important part I found was the weakness created in the door skin when the vent window was removed. I added a piece of round stock under the inside edge of the bottom of the window channel to add strength. The windows have been in the truck for about 8 years and still work great.

Hey rustbucket, yes, the bumper bolts were smoothed. Although it looks black, the bottom color is Dark Slate Gray Metallic( 2000 Chrysler 300M color).

I'm from the Bay Area but vowed to never be a Raider fan again when the went to L.A. in '84... Had season tickets for 7 years .

NO LIMIT ENGINEERING in San Bernardino California offer a kit for a little over $400. ( nolimit.net ) is their website and there's an interesting article about it.

Here's a link: http://www.classictrucks.com/tech/04...ows/index.html

It's in their technical section as, Project Old School-Building Out the Doors.
