Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

Here it goes guys my third build in 2 years on this forum. Hope you guys like this truck. So here was the thought process. Find a super clean 72 cheyenne with nice paint. Color did not matter and build a daily driver that laid frame on 22 front and rear. Truck will have full trim upper and lower with stock gas tank. 420hp small block chevy, smooth firewall, drop member front and rear with 5 gallon air pod and 2 compressor. Willwood discs front and rear with polished calipers. Full red leather interior. Custom sheet metal bed and inner front fenders. The front fenders will be just like my other truck I built but it will be smooth from the back of the grill to the fire wall. We plan to drive the hell out of this truck. Hope you guys enjoy the build. Thanks Eric

Glad you guys are excited I am too. Just been ordering parts for the last two months and then I will blow this project out. Its nice not having to do a bunch a paint and body. I have to redo the front right fender on the bottom but that is really simple. As far as my time goes I work on the truck after the kids go to be. I may spend 2 or 3 hrs a night in the garage. I try to focus on one thing at a time. So I will get you more pics tonight. Thanks Eric

Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

Thanks guys should be good. So talked to Nate couple days ago and drop member is on its way. So like I stated in a previous post hood and inner fenders came out when I put the upper trim on. So here are some pics of the trim on the side of the truck along with the new marker lights. Paint condition on the outside is an 8 out of 10. On the inside 5 out of 10 because it was not wet sanded and buffed so there is some runs and orange peel, I will be doing that this weekend. Also my standards on paint are really high do to the fact that I like show paint which as you all no takes alot more work to get. Again with this truck I am really having to control myself from building an all out show truck. I am trying to keep in mind that it is a driver. I plan to shoot out to az for the goodguys shows and this is the truck we are taking.

Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

Great looking truck... good starting point... great direction... can't wait to see more of the build

Where did you get the upper side trim? I have ordered some in the past and was very disappointed in the quality. Yours looks great.

Also... where did the side marker lights come from? They are awesome!!!

Re: Pops 72 cheyenne dropmember build

You may as well just tear it apart now & get a head start, cuz you know you will end up doing it later! After you remove the bed & front clip for the DM stuff your already half way there. Haha just messing with you, don't listen to the voices in your head or you will have another full blown project on your hands! What's the saying "keep it simple stupid", but if that was the case we wouldn't be on this forum for hrs every day. Have fun & good luck!
