I knew a guy who did a thing like that but just tac welded everything just to see if they could do it. Now it sits in there shed waiting to be finished while they work on other projects

There isn't very much "original" left on the truck in that add. The cab looks to be in great shape though as most of those trucks got worked really hard and usually were fairly beat up when they got done with them. I'd seen ones similar to the one in the Add used by power companies or the railroad years ago but never saw one on a pickup chassis.
