Project "Harriette" A slow and long term build.
So I get a call last Sunday from my 3rd Cousin asking me if I would be interested in his old truck that he has had for the last 25 plus years. I have seen this truck many times during the years but just thought that he would never let her go but after turning 80 he said it was time and besides he still has his Caddy. I jumped in my truck and drove over to his house to take a look (I really didn't care what shape it was in because I wanted it) after a couple of beers and a hand shake it was mine. He made me a really good deal and this past Friday I loaded it up on the trailer and brought it home. The plans for this one is to collect parts while I finish my 67 project "Hazel". The good part about this truck is I have most of the sheet metal parts I need to made the body very solid and straight. The only rust I have found have been in the drivers outer rocker and some on the floor where the toe board meets the floor seam by the dimmer switch. Anyway, here's the stats and some pictures.
68 SWB Custom 327 V8 Turbo 400 Was Saddle and white once upon a time. The suspension will be handled by PorterBuild (he should have a new kit by the time I get to that point)! I always name my trucks/cars so this one is Harriette because the cousin I got it from name is Harry.....thought it fit?

This is the only 2nd truck I have bought that didn't have the original paint but I had to have it and keep it in the family.

That's it! I refuse to visit the projects and builds forum until you get your own sub-section so I don't have to see anymore of this!

I don't know, it's going to be a long build because Hazel comes first.

Re: Project "Harriette" A slow and long term build.
It's been so long I forgot, it's 21 years old. I bought it from Ken (N2TRUX) about 15 years ago and have re-done it three times. I just finished it again last week.
I added the side steps and all the aluminum thread plate, the rear extra long and wide ramps, frenched license box and the aluminum tool box with winch. It had a 4ft high box on the front but it weight something like 500 pounds and my 1/2 couldn't handle it (had a dually).

WOW it looks brand new. I have been looking for a steel deck trailer. I like what you have done with it.

Re: Project "Harriette" A slow and long term build.
Oh, she's good. I kick myself for taking so long to get her together. If I'd just waited to spend any money until now I could've bought Porterbuilt and AccuAir stuff! Instead I'm trying to get her on the road with 5-6 year old stuff so I can start saving for upgrades
Also, I'm secretly happy you've got another build thread... that means another chance to see more of your tricks and secrets |

Re: Project "Harriette" A slow and long term build.
We don't get a lot of snow in this part of the country so it's rare. I took the opportunity to get the "Orange Turd" out and have some fun...getting back up the driveway wasn't fun
