need some help and ideas

Im taking my 56 chevy to a different level, I picked up a 95 z28 and want to add the whole suspension and drivetrain. what im looking for is a frame jig blueprint. Ive never built a frame but want to do this correctly. Got the whole car for 700 bucks with a blown headgasket. now the hard part maybe building the frame and adapting the suspension. Time to do the "dare to be different" idea. So any one have plans for a chassis jig??

Look at the build threads. Most guys just get the chassis level in all directions, check for square using diagonal reference points, then use temporary tube to triangulate and keep the frame from moving when you start removing the front frame. One of the easiest is to take angle, weld a nut on the inside cross wise and use a bolt as an adjustable foot with the angle spot welded to the frame sides. You can add a larger plate to the bottom of the bolt for more stability. once all is leveled double nut it in place and mark the the floor ss you make sure it can get back to the same reference point if it gets bumped. I have 4 magnetic torpedo levels I kept on my frame all the time I was working on it, plus a 2' and 6' for checking longer runs.

By jig you mean a special fixture to hold the parts in position?
You shouldn't really need a Jig. Its more of a measurement and fitment deal, measuring the cab mount points and such, there are dimensions in the factory assembly manuals.
Would help to draw pictures too. If you need something to hold a part in place you can either fab with welding or do a bolt together deal using c clamps etc.

You want to put a strut front end on your 56 truck? I'm not sure that's ever been done before. Good luck, and post a build thread when you start!

MOST guys use the 70-81 f-body as a clip, as kmracer stated the 82-up has a strut tower frontend. I guess anything can be done, but somethings shouldn't. JMO

Im going to build a completely new frame. Which will use all of the 95 camaro suspension. Right now it has a 77 camaro clip. But I want to be different. Plus I liked how the camaro handled with struts and rack & pinion steering.

The Camaro is 3500lbs or so, your truck is 5000 or so. Dunno if they make coils for the struts to deal with that weight. I don't see how it's gonna work, but am interested to see it done.

Something that has been done and works well is a c5 (vette) suspension. That will give you the handling your looking for with out trying to graft a uni-body suspension to a frame. As for the LT-1 and 4l60e, it's a great setup for a street rod and with different heads and cam can make a reliable 400 hp.
