This one has suicide doors, and the fenders are shaped at the edges.

Yeah, look at those differences. I see the suicide door would help with entry. I know many COEs would come on lighter/heavier chassis/suspension. with a low entry version available

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

The sleeper cab is kind of unusual for a Mack L model. The truck looks very restorable.

That Chevy C/60 has the '67 type inside door handle. Looks like mother nature took a bite out of the door opening in the top

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

Yeah the Mack is very restorable, it was at a trailer dealership, maybe one of their original puller trucks?. Cab does seem strange, ugly and cool all at once.
That C-60 has a nice hydraulic bed with a wheel lift, couldn't get close enough to see an engine, assuming was a 366, the roof was removed at some point, guessing for the marker pods, this was in June, and snakes were on the move, pulled five ticks from my beltline later that evening cause of the tall grass

Re: Trucks Are Beautiful

That's right. I was reading about these and that's what they did. To fit the drive assembly up front they had to reverse the oil pan and move the engine forward requiring that special radiator location. They didn't want to gain length in front of the 5th wheel. Consolidated tried about every way to get the most out of a truck, didn't they?

Great pics Tim and KQQL IT!

I have never seen or heard of the power dolly. I may have to read up on that.

Thanks Tim, now I visualize that cab on a Dodge power giant. Thinking later 58-6? Ford cab might of been used there. Wow, I forget they used that Dodge cab a long time

It's the came cab Dodge used in the Bighorns and other big trucks many years beyond '60, the last light truck year for that cab
