Patina!!! I keep up on my truck every week,,, clear water rinse, then light sanding a some fresh primer over the "first stages of rust" keeps the look, keeps me involved with my truck. Im more focused on engine, brakes, wiring, etc than what ist looks like now.. Ill be done one day but until i am I like the color.

Just my half a cent worth

I did it to mine. I’m not too happy with the outcome and may go back when time permits and redo it. To me it looks to much like camo

Spray or roll it with a thin coat - color of choice - without any prep, and then let nature do its own thing.
