Best body welder

I am looking for a really good sheet metal man or women to replace or tell me if it is a good idea to replace all the metal that I need to or scrap this cab for a better one.
Area's that have to be replaced:
1. All of the floor and yes I mean all of it
2. Cab coners
3. lower or inner cowl
4. Inner front roof section behind front window and sun visors
5. Top of window post area including drip rail
6. Top of rear window
7. I am sure there is more but I cannot think of it right this moment

I want to find a person that is really good if not the best.

X2. By the time you buy all the replacement panels, then have somebody cut and weld them in, then do the bodywork, you would have been WAY ahead just dropping the money for a better cab.

Re: Best body welder

Your talking about thousands of dollars in labor. You could literally buy a decent complete truck for what you would have tied up in the cab alone. Even if you spent 1000 bucks on a new cab. You would be way ahead of the game versus what you will spend to have yours fixed.

Re: Best body welder

not to mention that you can't buy all the pieces you described new. you will have to cut them out of a junk truck. good luck

Re: Best body welder

Thank you all for your input. I think sometimes we just need confirmation of what I know is right. I want to rebuild the cab but even if I did you never know how well the pieces will hold together. Thanks again for your feedback.

Re: Best body welder

I took a look at the link in your sig and it looks like the truck has some sentimental value to you and I completely understand.

That 4x4 truck looks really nice! Rather than make a Frankenstein of the two trucks, I would suggest using that 4x4 truck to make a clone of your Grandpa's truck...make it just how you remembered it looking when it was new! It would be sort of a tribute to his truck.

As for his truck, get it out of the elements and keep it as is. Clean it up, get it drive able and mechanically sound.

This way, you can have a nice looking truck that would remind you of his old truck, but every now and then you can fire up the real one and go drive it!

Re: Best body welder

Damn there goes the budget. I only hope that I can get out with just $1000's.
I do have to admit she has a great body if not the best but I was talking about my truck body.
Thanks Seven
