Scrapping a Cab

I think I am about ready to scrap the cab that came on my parts truck. I don't have a trailer available and was contemplating just taking a sawzall to the cab so i could fit it in my wife's small truck.

There is plenty of rust and other issues, so I doubt it is worth saving, and it hasn't gotten any solid hits since I listed it. Is there any part I should be looking to save for another builder restorer?

Re: Scrapping a Cab

If some of the sections are still good like the roof you might throw it on Craigslist for a low figure and hope someone bites. But then you have to fool with that too.

But sometimes you just have to get the sawzall or axe out and cut them up and haul them off.

Are there doors or is it just a bare cab shell?

Re: Scrapping a Cab

I put it up on our classsifieds last night. Maybe I'll get a hit there. Craigslist was useless. I'll give her a few more weeks before destroying the cab.

Re: Scrapping a Cab

if you can sell that is good for you
but if stuck and finally tired and you need to get rid of it i've found the sawzall is best remove all glass and doors wack off the roof and cut accross the middle of the floorboard for three easily manageable pieces to dispose of

you can also try running a craigs ad givin it away for free . i've found theres always somebody willin to take stuff free

Re: Scrapping a Cab

What does the roof look like right above the pass door? If not rusted too bad I would be interested in that piece if you cut it up. Didn't see a good shot of it in your pics. Post me a pic of that section and I can show you what I need.
Thanks,
Reno

I wanted to scrap it to at least get some of my cash back. With salvage prices up so high I'll gladly deal with the hassle given the amount of metal that is present in this thing. First run will be the block and cab. I have no intentions of scrapping the frame unless it sits until this summer without a buyer, but i suspect a cheap swb frame will sell quickly.

Thanks for the tips guys.

Noted. I have been trying to avoid that. It is indeed up for sale in the classifieds. Please post interest questions there, I'll respond ASAP.
