So you don't beat the hell out of them with a hammer. Seriously, I must warn you, I'm an electrician by trade. This means I'm a professional complainer but, REALLY! These steering wheel adapters could use a better install diagram... or maybe I'm just whining. I have yet to actually make the wheel look right and figure the positioning of the fiber horn disc... my newest idea is that with the wheel I am putting in... it isn't necessary. The wheel grounds itself out and the push button has two leads which complete the circuit when pushed... 2 days, and a six pack later I hope I got it. This wheel looks really great sitting on my floor board by the way.

I have the exact same thing. wasn't too complicated i didnt think. the spring just pushes up against the wire which pushes the disk and you have to tape a spring on the honr button and your set.

It sortof reminds me of the old Superior wheel....fiber ring,chrome button. Either it worked or didnt....or the button fell off& it was full on the horn

Gotta say ...I LOVE your external EQ! I had an Alpine unit, that was very close to that.
I have a Grant wheel in the For Sale Section that is almost like this (except the spokes are Chrome. Its a Grant "Challenger Series" wheel.

I guess I avoided the situation with my later model (78) truck wheel. But, I've got a Grant, with the billet part that fits the wheel to the column, etc.

Being that you're an electrician......and thinking back to my first car.....anyway my '54 Ford had an Ahhoogah horn with a button on the dash (aluminum starter button) that worked really well. Pressing the button at the right time would make people jump when they didn't know you were behind them.....funny stuff for a high school senior.

After looking at it... I have a signature series wheel which i think makes contact closing the circuit for the horn @ the push button. The wire at the turn signal plastic plate is always hot and makes it's contact with ground when button is pressed. the ground comes off one of the 3 bolts that mount wheel to hub... I did a different wheel on an El Camino years ago and was a breeze. This one seems different, there is no obvious place to put the horn disc that would allow it to move. I'm going to try installing it a third time and I'll post pictures in a bit. Thanks.
