Man, there's no long bed love on this site. When I win the lottery for 20 million, I'm gonna buy up all the short beds I find and convert them to long beds out of spite.

Re: Reggie Jackson's low-mile'68 C10

JMO - too nice to chop up. The collectability and long term value of a good original longbed like this example will far outlast that of a chopped up truck that has been made to look like its original. A fake will always be a fake. However, this is America and we can do what we choose to do and I am thankful for that.

Some things just have a wider appeal after being "chopped up".

If its appears to be legit, I'm going to guess they sprayed the under carriage with used oil every Winter to protect it from rust.

You LWB guys sure are a devoted bunch. Oblivious to the facts of reality, but devoted none the less.

Re: Reggie Jackson's low-mile'68 C10

I question the originality simply based on my 68. I recently pulled the front end out to rebuild lower 6 lug disk etc. and the factory springs STILL had the factory part stickers (legit GM 7 digit # by the way 398xxxx if I remember correctly) on the fronts. One actually came off when replacing and I cleaned it to rest my suspicions. I would think that if his was a 25xxx mile truck those would be still in place. Oh and by the way my truck shows 45xxx on speedo and was a one owner... so based on my experience I would think that these should still be in place especially if the truck was limited in its driving as the body would indicate... playing on Mr October name will carry the trucks price with someone.

What about missing radio, glue on rear view mirror no emblem on glove box door?

Is it REALLY "all original" or restored?

Re: Reggie Jackson's low-mile'68 C10

I'm photographing Reggie's C10 this Tuesday, and I'm hoping I'll be able to pull a front brake drum. I think getting a good close look inside and seeing what the brake internals look like will confirm one way, or the other what the story is.

Re: Reggie Jackson's low-mile'68 C10

Take a look at the truck for sale forums. I have a 69 with less than 9,600 miles for sale there. And it is for sure the real deal, and after 800 plus views not one comment or offer, not even one person asking to come and see it in person. Good luck Reggie hopefully your legendary status can get you a sale. John

John,
I'm probably 5 or so of those views. Love that truck. Wish I had the extra dough and room for it. Good luck with the sale. It is a real nice example.

John , your 1969 survivor is a nice truck , but after all this time trying to sell it and what everyone has said it is just a reality that it won't sell for what you want for it because it is a long bed , if it were a short bed it would sell , just fact's , your's would be a good one to do a short bed project if someone wanted a nice truck and would take the time to do it right ,,, long bed truck's are like 4 door car's they just won't sell for much money ,

Re: Reggie Jackson's low-mile'68 C10

The yellow and the maroon longbeds will eventually sell to the right truck person who appreciates originality and quality. The key word is "right truck person". The much larger street rod market prefers shortbeds, but a true truck collector appreciates all versions that are in immaculate original condition.
