Re: April 2011 Truck of The Month

My 1965 shop truck....

Bed widened 4", '64 Impala tailights, Rear Mount fuel tank, west coast mirrors

Custom stainless tube grille

1967 Camaro Dash

Low back buckets, early 70's GM console, Muncie 4-speed, floor mount hand brake

350 V-8, Edlebrock carb., full length headers

And here is a video...... http://www.youtube.com/user/JohnDenv.../2/oYbRYHHm640

As for defects (perhaps my procrastination may finally produce results ): Rust through: lower front fenders both sides, lower rear passenger door. Drivers side door smilies.

Re: April 2011 Truck of The Month

Open to all years and models of Trucks, Blazers, Suburbans, Tahoes, Yukons, and Jimmys.
98 GMC Sonoma

The nominee must be a board member and the current owner of the truck.
Im am the current owner

It must be road worthy and currently legal (until the cops catch you) to be on the road.
It is "road" worthy

It must have an unmatching paint scheme (no all primers)
Its white with a grey front

It must have at least three other definite viewable imperfections. This includes things like missing panels, dents, holes (large and small), dominate rust formations (not patina) or whatever might make someone afraid to go near it for fear of catching some sort of disease.
Where to I start? Missing 2 rings, dent in bed, and the bumpers not straight

If a truck was selected as a 2009 TOTM winner then you are ineligible. If you were nominated but were not selected as a TOTM winner then you may be nominated and compete in this month's category.
I never one a TOTM

A little Info: Its got a 2.2l tutu, 5 speed, about 220xxx miles. My dad had this truck as a parts runner and after he sold my truck, I bought this of him. I learned how to drive a stick in this truck. Alot of good and bad memories.

Re: April 2011 Truck of The Month

I don't really understand the "unmatching paint" criteria. Some trucks aren't eligible because they have the misfortune of being all original?

The criteria changes from month to month. This month "unmatching paint" happens to be one of the criteria

her name is "sylvia" I call it a 1979 but there are parts from almost every year on her stock 350 4 speed granny low 2wd

she has plenty of rust spots the carpet was from my bedroom thats an axe wound in the tailgate the seat is duct tape no keys came with the column so i made a "push-button" ignition i dont have any gas tank fill tubes i have to fill it with a syphon out of a gas can i have magnetic trailer lights for now.... wow the list goes on but i still drive it everyday and i can get away with it in this little redneck town

Re: April 2011 Truck of The Month

I think I qualify. If so, let me know if you need more pictures.

edit: I went back and read the entry criteria. Sorry, here's all the info.

1969 Chevrolet C-10 350/Saginaw 4-speed, 2/4 drop on 8" steelies, A/C, No power steering/brakes, 1.25 swaybar, and too much other stuff to list. I've had this truck on the road since 1997, and since then it's been rebuilt, and repainted a couple times, but never really finished. There's always something I'd like to change, or do better. In the meantime though I've managed to put nearly a quarter of a million miles on it. It goes to car shows, but it will never really be a show truck. Yet it's not a beater either. It's a whatever.

Re: April 2011 Truck of The Month

I really like jhwkns discription , his truck is whatever ! I think my truck fits the criteria , but I'm not about to call my own 68 down , picking it apart and pointing all the flaws out like some guy at a car show who walked there. If it fits , it fits. Whatever.

Re: April 2011 Truck of The Month

how about my blazer
72 K/5 3/4t axles 350/350/205

from the body line down is a lot of puddy, expando foam and riveted on sheet metal but new holes coming through in many many places, but I still love her! hoping to redo the rust above the body line and do diamond plate below it....

Thanks for nominating my truck Vectorit!
Here are a couple more pics of the ugly.
The interior is pretty bare, the bed floor has rust, and the rear end needs to be C-notched ASAP! (Note the notches sitting in the rusty bed)
