Re: Help me with my color please!
You have probably seen these before, but since I can assume you will make a sensible choice and go with a factory color scheme and an OE wheel/cap set-up, these two sales lit shots are close comparisons.
I've stated my preference for turquoise before, but I have to say the red 63 below is sharp! ...hmmm. Last edited by oem4me; 03-26-2011 at 11:34 AM. |

Re: Help me with my color please!
I vote turquoise.
Is this the same rig? If so, the owner of it lives in my town.

Re: Help me with my color please!
Seems starting in 63, the 4WD no longer was produced with hubcaps. Wheels were black unless two tone paint. Reference page 2 of 1963 Chevrolet Truck Data book. Then again not many factory pictures of two tone 4WD's.
16" newer style rim in the front and 17" converted from 17.5" originals on the rear with the tallest skinny tire I could find.

Re: Help me with my color please!
Love all the information and literature aerotruck. So by this I am guessing that my 62 wheels could have caps, could be painted the body color and could even do trim rings if I chose. I am definitely looking to go more original but as you can tell by my color choices they are not exact and may not end up being just because of availably and also a little bit of personal taste but I really want to aim for the original feel the more I look into it.

Re: Help me with my color please!
I notice an original looking truck more now than a customized. It takes some talented people to take something original and make it look so good that it stands out from the originals.

Re: Help me with my color please!
I'm heavily partial to the turquoise. It is my truck's original color, and the color I will be painting it.
