'72 Heater Core

Hey guys. I wanted to ask a quick question. I've got a '72 Chevy with factory A/C, and the heater core needs to be replaced. Is it accessible from the engine bay, or is best to access it from inside the cab? Is there anything I should watch out for, or are there any tricks you guys know to make the job easier? Thanks in advance for your help folks!

Re: '72 Heater Core

I don't have a.c., but I have a '72 as well and I just pulled my heater core yesterday. If they are even remotely the same, you will have to access it from under the hood. I did have to get behind the glove box, but that was only to disconnect the cable from the heater selector door. After dropping the inner fender (to access two lower bolts) I was able to remove the whole box (core and blower assy.) It took some finegaling, but I got it out without having to move the hood hinge. Hope that helps. MAAAAANY people on this board have done this repair. I'm sure you will hear more tips, especially for the a.c. configuration. Good Luck.

Re: '72 Heater Core

Heater core is inside the cab on A/C trucks.
