69 or 70 how do you know?
So I own a 68 and I am in the process of buying a 71 so this past weekend I was showing my 7 yr old what the new truck would look like and from that it turned into the two of us looking at a ton of pics and me teaching him how to identify what year it was only I didn't know what the tell tale sign there was for a 69 - 70 ?

I think it has something to do with the size of the squares in the grill. Let me go look at a few and I will report back.

Re: 69 or 70 how do you know?
Looked at 2 69s and a 70, and they all look the same. I am assuming the 70 grill has been blacked out so you cant see the odd painted ones. Sorry about that.

Re: 69 or 70 how do you know?
The grill thing can still fool you. replacement of the grill or a repopped grill. Only sure way would be a title or vin check this late in the game.
Late in the year 69 at the chevy plant in STL I was told the last few hundred trucks off the line even got the 70 grills installed and when a back order of 69 grills showed up later they were put into a few 70's also. This was told to me by a former inspector at the truck plant. Don't know if it was BS or not but seems possible anyway.
