71 upholstery
I am new here. I have a 71 C20. It is 98% stock (got rid of points last year and installed E ignition) My 2nd vinyl seat cover has ripped again. I have searched high and low for replacements: same ol. same ol: LMC etc. My issue is that the vinyl set from LMC is $350. I live in Eastern Long Island, and I think that the cold just makes the vinyl brittle. I would like to keep the truck as "stock" as possible.
I have seen the houndstooth/vinyl replacements, but most sites have "no Image". Has anyone installed one in their truck? I also forgot to mention that this truck is my daily driver. My shop is only 5 miles from where I live, and I really don't go anywhere else. Any help or refferals would be appreciated. Thanks |

Sorry I can't help you with your question but
 by the way.For $350 may be you just get a seat cover made that is not vinyl. Or you may consider throwing a couple of Mexican blankets over it. Good luck! Keith |

Welcome!
Have you tried taking it to a few upholstery shops to get estimates to repair it? No sense in replacing the whole thing if it's only one piece that needs to be replaced.

This is what I have. No idea if it is original or aftermarket, but I would assume it is what the "no image" covers you speak of look like.
EDIT-well i guess i should have noticed the word houndstooth...sheesh Good luck

Go to Athey's. I just ordered a houndstooth from Bill Athey and it looks great. Albeit, is not on the seat yet, but pulling it out of the box, its exactly what I needed!

Went to Athey's. Picked up some extra stuff: Door seals (hopefully it wont make that sound that makes the hair on my neck stand up every time someone slams the door).
Big question: I am considering rear disks. Is it really worth it? I just want to do it out of convenience ( rear brakes are such a pain in the ass to work on) any input would be appreciated. |

It is a totally different world in Bridgehampton now. You would probably get sick to your stomach. Don't get me wrong, It is beautiful, and I am very lucky to be living here. Memorial day to Labor day is another story though. All the entitled riff-raff from the big crapple come out, and you just want to hide.
