Buddy buckets question

Hello all! Working on my '68 SWB and I have run across a set of buddy buckets from a 1972 GMC Sierra Grande for sale. My question is, what are the differences, if any, in buddy buckets from 1967-72. If I do buy them, they would be re-upholsterd in '68 vinyl from LMC so no worries there. Interested more in the frame. Think I read somewhere that there are some cosmetic diffrences in '67-68 than in the later years. Thanks!

Re: Buddy buckets question

Buddy buckets only came in 67-68 trucks. If you found them in a 72, they were added by someone else. 69-72 bucket seats have higher backs and an actual center console(buddy buckets and console/flip up seat are mounted on a frame) Post pics if you can. They could have come from a Dodge too, depending on what the frame looks like.

If the price is right buy the buckets and flip them. Just a thought.

Re: Buddy buckets question

Look like chevy. And those would be the 67-68. As leddzepp said, the 69-72 buckets are quite a bit different.

Re: Buddy buckets question

Those are Chevy buddy buckets! grab them those seats are extremly rare and hard tocome by in any condition. i would most defintely put upholster them and put them in your truck, But if you don't like that style. Sell them and use the money to get what you want. I have a partner of mine looking for a set. Here is a set of buckets and console, that i was going to put in my truck before i found me some Buddies.

Re: Buddy buckets question

those are pretty shot though... can be fixed with new foam and springs but I would try to get them for a good price (<200ish)... You can find better sets for 300-400 that only need new covers.
