Nobaddaze's 82 C10 Cruiser Build
Ok I guess its time to start a build thread on my new project. I came across this pickup through a buddy and decided to go for it. Its an 82' short bed with stock 350 and turbo 400. The object is to build a nice c10 thats not too over the top but I will still enjoy. I started the truck in the summer of 2010. so here goes...
The day I took it home... Starting teardown with some new shoes! |

Re: Nobaddaze's 82 C10 Cruiser Build
SHAVED Just the way i like em...I left the stock junction block for harness for ease on reassembly. but i did eliminate the section where e-brake cables and speedo cables come through to clear my tires.
Replaced fromt driver rocker corner due to rust damage. I used an LMC Rocker panel. not sure how happy i am with the part but you wont see anyways... When i tried to shift out or park for the first time i about ripped the shifter mechanism out of the floor (wood screws holding it in) so i waterjet out a sandwich plate setup out of .125 mild steel and welded bottom plate to underside of floor. |

small update today. frame is off to gorilla industrial coatings for a "lava black " powdercoat job. Included all springs, steering arms, and misc brackets. my brother used this company and color on his 68 chevelle frame and it turned out amazing. i cant wait. usually takes about a week to get back.

Re: Nobaddaze's 82 C10 Cruiser Build
so a small update today. met a guy on craigslist ended up trading an old set of hedman hedders and 80 bucks for a complete shortbed. bed has dual tank fuel doors, no rust, and the best part is its strait with no bondo. no pictures yet. This new bed saves me a ton of time because my old bed needed some serious work, someone used fiberglass and a gallon of bondo to do some repairs before i got it.

Re: Nobaddaze's 82 C10 Cruiser Build
BMFP-im going camping with elaines friends this weekend. im definately itchn to go though.
on another note- i got the new bed torn apart, my old bed torn apart, layed all the parts out on my lawn and picked the best pieces from both beds and made a frankenstein bed that is pretty much ready for final body work. then i got rid of all the spare crap that i had laying around through craigslist and the scrap yard. now my garage and side yard is nice and clean!!! Hopefully my frame is coming back sometime this week and i can start the actual "build" process of this truck! |

Re: Nobaddaze's 82 C10 Cruiser Build
here is a question for some of you "guru's" out there. when i went to pull my cab off, 3 of the 4 mounting bolts ended up stripping on me. my front drivers bolt is seized. the two rear bolts just spin and i can hear the nut inside my cab spinning. so i ended up just cutting them off with the sawzall through the mounts. so now i have about 1.5 inches of seized bolts sticking out of my mounts. any ideas on how to fix it?
