hydro boost

so my truck has hydro boost and looks like it's been peiced together. the power steering canister looks to have been cut in half and made bigger? (will get pics tomoro) all the lines are shot it's leacking every where and squeels like a dyeing cat.

Seen a guy parting a dually on kijiji asked how much he said 240 for everything lines are new last year and everyhting is in good shape. is that a good price? or should i just fork out the money and get new lines, pump canister etc....?

Re: hydro boost

I wouldn't pay 240 bucks for his used stuff when you could take the same 240 bucks and rebuild your stuff with new lines, rebuilt pump, etc. In the end, you've still spent the money but you have new parts not used stuff.

Re: hydro boost

I looked up your truck (84 GMC C3500 with a small block) to research your parts.

A rebuilt pump is 52 bucks at O Reilly.

The pressure lines run about 20 bucks each at O Reilly.

Return lines are just bulk hose.

It looks to me that you could fully rebuild the whole mess for 240 bucks.

Re: hydro boost

use rockauto, im in canada too and rockauto is great for shipping to canada. Usually you can get them to pre-pay the duty so there is nothing owing when it arrives and you know exactly how much it will cost prior to it shipping.
