4BT diesel. Yep that is what it is. They are a lot less weight on the suspension and a lot better fuel mileage.

Yea that's my dream truck, a 64-66 with a 4BT. And that truck looks great.

Shoot, Gil....
That truck is quietly screamin...original..I'm wearing OE paint.

That badboy has the original Pacific Wonderland plates.
I'd love to see that truck in person.

Any pics under the hood...?

I think that the BBW and step side box is a rare combo, specially in a 4X4.

Nice red interior.

Wow

I was thinking of doing a 4BT on my 66 . What kind of mileage do you get ? I like your truck , you did a good job with it .

Here's my 65 GMC Suburban. Some people call it a rust bucket but I like to think of it as a heavy patina.

Re: 60-66 Chevy And GMC 4X4's Gone Wild

Has anyone made a topper for their swb fleetside out of an old burb? I'm thinking I might try that. I love the look of the burb and could use a topper on my truck occasionally.
Maybe it would need to be a long need truck huh?

I've thought about it. It would be pretty heavy and would have to be modified substantially. I was thinking a fiberglass mold would have to be made and shortened to fit the short bed. The windows would have to be shorter due to the design of the back of the cab where it would meet the shell and the back behind the wheels being a little shorter than a Sub. Burbs were built on slightly altered short bed frames so a long bed might look a little different. It would be a lot of work, but......

I was going to do that about 25 years ago when I had 3 parts Suburbans and one Panel, but it never happened......life happened instead.
