I was wondering what you guys thought would be a reasonable price for replacing both cab corners. The Pass. side just need the bottom corner replaced. i already have it cut out and the patch panel cut close to size. The driver side needs almost the whole patch panel replaced. All i need is someone to weld/align the patch panels. I can Do the filling and that stuff.All of my local shops have said it would cost about 400$. Thats sounds like alot to me.

Hmm, I'm not an expert, but I'd stay away from anything over 150 bucks, including parts and labor. Actually when I keep thinking about it, it should be less. You can buy both cab corners for about $40-45 for both. It shouldn't take a skilled welder long at all to weld them on. Not even 20 mins, I would think. So I'd stay away from anything over 100 bucks. If I were you I'd buy the parts yourself, and then get the lowest rate for someone to weld them on, if they want too much, screw 'em and move on!

not many shops take small jobs, not enough profit in it... that's why you're getting a high estimate... maybe there's a board member close by with a welder who could bust it out for ya.. doesn't sound like it should take more than a couple hours if you've got the cab and panels cut to match...

I would just lean how to weld and borrow or rent a welder...using a MIG welder isn't very hard at all. If all you need is the welding, you might want to contact a few local welding shops and ask them about it. Then you can fill and prime it after they weld it up.

I had the same problem a few years ago, so i had to start doing them myself. I enjoy it. Cab corners, rockers, floorpans and inner rockers. I do not like the bondo and finish work. It is not that hard, but time consuming. Need lots of tools and mig. I have charged 150-200 a pair labor. I use to charge 250.00 parts and labor for the outer rockers. But they take so long to get them correct that i had to go up on them. I think that 400.00 is way off.

Check at larger body shops (or car dealers) & see if any of the body men do side work at home.
