Nice looking work so far. You might want to do some checking on the rear end gearing with the 700r. From what I've seen and read the 3.08 is a bit on the low side for cruising RPM. I know that with my truck and the 3.43 gears I reving about 1700 rpm.

Re: '56 Chevy Project Thread

Some progress to report. Took apart the rear end and replaced the axle bearings (w/ "axle saver" bearings), then painted it up with rustencapsulator paint. Put it all back together in time to receive two new drilled / slotted rotors from Summit. Painted up the frame (not show quality, but whatever, it's the frame on a truck that will be driven), and installed the gas tank from Classic Performance Parts. Pretty happy with things so far:

Dad's in town next weekend. Hope to run the brake and fuel lines (after getting the calipers and fuel pump on), and get my new air compressor hooked up to a 220v power source. After that, it might be time to find a body shop for the cab...

Re: '56 Chevy Project Thread

Hopefully some fresh pics soon. Aluminum radiator / belts / hoses are all finally in. Starting to look like something that could function.

Re: '56 Chevy Project Thread

Man, I've neglected this thread (and project). Getting married and moving will do that to a man. I'm back at it though, and am debating whether or not to order a replacement front fender. Please let me know your thoughts one way or another, either here or on my separate post.

Re: '56 Chevy Project Thread

One update. I couldnt find a brake booster assmbly that would work for my new disc / disc setup, so I went ahead and ordered one from CPP:

http://www.classicperform.com/Store/...s/4753FBBD.htm

Hope to install it soon. I'm happier with this setup and buying a new steering column (as opposted to the donor car setup we had installed years ago). Let me know if y'all have any advice on an aftermarket steering column.
