fuel line help quick plz
what size should the hose be to a eldebrock 1406 i used 5/16 was 3/8 now black smoke bad

I use 3/8" line on mine. Lumpy

Should have a 3/8 line, but it sounds to me like your carb needs adjusted. Start with adjusting the 2 screws in all te way and backed out by 1/4 turn.

fuel line size won't cause it to black smoke. You have carb problems.
Too small of a fuel line will hurt power at WOT Too large of a fuel ine won't hurt anything. |

just an fyi I use 3/8 line too. sounds like carb needs adj.
does it back fire ot sputter at any time or act sluggish?

What fuel pressure is the supply to the carb at? These edelbrocks are picky about to hi a supply pressure. It will run rich all day long if supply pressure is to hi.

stock pump should be fine , i am running same carb and stock pump., Check your timing and points, adj carb settings
