Where did you get your seat?
It's time to get a seat for my 65 daily drive project and I need some help. I need a 40/20/40 bench so that I can get three people in the truck (Wife, kid,me) but a regular bench will not work because when my wife drives the seat has to move so far forward I can't get in.
I was looking at www.discountvantruck.com but based on comments in a previous post I have concerns about their quality. So where did you get your seat. Thanks |

Re: Where did you get your seat?
We have a newer vehicle salvage around here and they have all sorts of seats to choose from. It may be something to check into around close to you.

Re: Where did you get your seat?
I just went to the junkyard and looked at all the options. Settled on a set of Marauder seats just because they were made for big boys. Those were buckets but there was an excellent selection of both. Including 40/20/40's. And I got the pair in black leather/suede for $50.

Re: Where did you get your seat?
Look into the 40/60 seats that GM used in the trucks from '88 and up. The "40" section is on the driver's side and it'll work fine for the wife. The width works good in our trucks, and the seat brackets are flat where they bolt up to the floor. Comfortable, too.

Re: Where did you get your seat?
I went around and around about seats until I finally just decided on comfort and class.
2007 Cadillac DTS seats ($250 for the pair) with a 2010 F150 jump seat ($100) and middle seat belt ($25). Monday says they are the most comfy seats ever:

Re: Where did you get your seat?
Thanks. She's been pissed ever since I put the passenger seat back in. She used to sit FOR HOURS in the seat watching me work on the truck. She still likes to sit on it in the truck, but she had a better view when it was in the garage.
I picked up a 60/40 from a early 90's Silverado for $50 of craigs list for my '69 years ago. That was a great bench and was an easy install. The Caddy seats weren't so easy, but worth it.
