GMC body mounts
Hey guys,
I have a GMC Carryall that has worn body mounts, that need changing. Would anyone have any info on changing out the mounts to 1/2 ton style mounts? |

Re: GMC body mounts
would probably work, but the only exact match is the front "cab" mount.
the rear "cab" mount is narrower than a truck, and uses a square piece of rubber. the rear frame mounts behind that have rubber on a carryall, wheras the truck box is just bolted to the frame... the core support mounts on a carryall are made of vulcanized rubber/metal, kind of like the 3/4 ton truck rear cab mount. you might just source some chunks of rubber for the rear mounts and cut them yourself

Re: GMC body mounts
Thanks for the info, I have a set of truck rear cab mounts that I'm going to see if they will work. It looks like to radiator core mounts from the truck will work, and there appears to be existing holes in the frame.
I thought I read that there is another body mount in the rear, but I can't seem to find it. Is it just the rubber sandwiched between the underfloor body crossmember? Posted via Mobile Device |
