Hey all! My truck skips 2nd gear when I put it in drive. It shifts right from 1st to 3rd. I have a TH-350 with a fresh filter and a fresh tranny flush.

I disconnected the kickdown cable because it was frayed and the frayed part would not allow the cable to return all the way, and it made my tranny permanently kicked down. I have the cable pushed all the way back as it will go...This worked for the past 2 months... Would this be causing the problem? It didn't do it until recently...

What would cause it to skip 2nd? If I put the gear selector in 2nd, it starts out in first and shifts into 2nd, just like normal. So, I know my 2nd gear is not shot. I can also manually shift or shift into drive once I hit about 35mph in 2nd.

What should I start looking for? The only time it skips 2nd gear is when I start out in drive, it will get to 15mph in 1st and shift straight into 3rd.
